The dirt and mess that had been there when we looked at the house was still there but knowing it would be we came prepared with cleaning supplies! Thanks to my super cleaner concentrate this was going to be a breeze.
At first the 35 stairs in the house were beautiful and I was excited about them. The 14 stairs I went up and down all day taking things from the main floor to the top floor however had a rather painful effect on a once broken bone in my foot.
We went about our unpacking and cleaning. Every time we turned around something new needed to be done. I can’t seem to escape the feeling that this will be the norm for a few years to come.
The second night was a bit less eery having gotten used to some of the sounds the first night. The second day brought about different dilemmas like which toilet to use in the upstairs bathroom. Never before have I experience such and interesting bathroom.
Exhausted and ready for the first day to be over we set up the bed and happily fell into it. The sounds however of the new house tend to echo eerily through the holes in the walls. At one point Brent even got up to make sure there was no one walking around down stairs!
Live Life To The Fullest
The third day the house was unpacked and we crammed in as much cleaning as we could but time doing the thing that time does slipped away and before long we had to depart on our journey back to the mainland.
I miss the new house and with every ounce of strength left in me I continue to work towards the next phase in our adventure, selling everything, so we can finish running away.
